Hello, my name is Matthew Fankhauser and I am a Rotterdam based photographer. I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the TU Delft.
My photography journey started when I was a kid. I got an old compact camera as a present from my aunt. Since then I always took some pictures. Far from professional and everything in AUTO mode of course.
I taught myself the basics of photography and combined with a lot of practice and good and bad photos I can finally say I know that I don't know everything. You can always learn more and improve yourself. Try out different things and combine your knowledge to create something new.
That's the reason for this website. I want to show you my work and show myself what I have achieved and that I can create something new out of the things I've already done or already know.
